Lot 1914 /o   

Spain, Collection, 1850-1900, mostly used on album pages; includes 1850 issues with 4-margin 5r red (cat $300) and 6r blue (Sc. 4, cat $850, with cert.), 4-margin 1851 issues with 12c, 5r, 6r & 10r values (total cat $2,125), 4-margin 1852 issues missing only the rare 2r and including an additional 5r pair with cert. (total cat $1,053), similar 1853 issues with 1c bronze (cat $550) and 6r high value (cat $450) among others, 1854 issues missing only the 1r indigo (total cat $1,083), strong to sparse later issues with highlights including used 1861, 19c brown on buff (Sc. 52, cat $1,500), unused 1865, 19c brown & rose imperf (cat $1,500) and perf'd with 1r-3r values (total cat $1,025), used 1866, 19c brown (Sc. 84, cat $525, signed), etc., also including couple additional pages of mostly classic imperf issues and a couple 1850-60's 4c sheets; condition well above the norm overall.

Spain, Collection, 1852-1938, neatly displayed in padded hingeless Lighthouse album, with *&o classic period, much fresh mint as well as used Queen Isabella designs, onwards to "España", King Amadeo, Justice, King Alphonso XII & King Alphonso XIII, 1930's well represented with pictorials; also some back-of-the-book and Revolutionary overprints, airmails, etc; closer examination recommended.

Spain, Collection, 1964-1997, pristine showing of nearly 2,000 stamps displayed in Lighthouse hingeless album, virtually complete for the period including high values to 1,000ptas, inspection recommended, o.g., never hinged.

Spain & Colonies, Collection, 1850-1955, mint on album pages with the occasional used; with Spain with used early imperfs and virtually all mint from 1854 on with good later Isabella issues, 1905 Don Quixote issue missing one lesser stamp, good back-of-the-book, Cape Juby, Spanish Guinea with a fair range of King issues with good later completion, Fernando Po with good early issues, revenue surcharge issues, Eloby, Annobon & Corisco, Rio de Oro, Aguerra, Spanish West Africa, Spanish Sahara, excellent completion in Spanish Morocco with many of the better long sets present, Tangier; condition varied with nice fresh material throughout, owner's cat. in excess of $9,180.

Spanish Colonies, Collection, 1854--1900, mounted on album pages; includes Cuba with strong completion in early 4-margin imperf issues including additional singles and multiples, similar completion in later including newspaper issues, Fernando Po with used #1 followed by various good mint, 1899 & 1900 revenue issues, etc., Marianna Islands used and missing only the key 6c value (Sc. 1-3, 5-6, total cat $2,400, #2-3 & 5 with certs), Philippine Islands with 4-margin imperfs including 1854, 10c carmine and 2r green pair (total cat $650), 1855, 5c redrawn (Sc. 7, cat $1,100), later sparse to 1887, good to fair showing of Porto Rico issues; condition above the norm overall.

Cuba, Collection, 1855-1955, mint mounted on album pages with the occasional used; includes a good showing of early issues starting with mint #1, 1860 surcharge issue x2 (cat $240 each) and better later issues present with 1868 overprints, key 1870 issues, good to strong completion in later King issues, 1914-15 Map issue complete, etc., back-of-the-book with airmails, special deliveries, dues, newspapers, etc.; condition varied in earlier issues with nice fresh material throughout, owners cat in excess of $5,370.

Straits Settlements, Collection, 1867-1953, predominately mint mounted on album pages; starting with a few good early QV issues and 1880 surcharges mint, some good later surcharges, KEVII with better mint dollar values, KGV with complete later sets, occupationals, good showing of federated states issues with good mint runs and the occasional better including Johore, Kedah with 1937 Sultan set, Ketlantan, Pahang, Penang, Perak with 1896, $1 mint (cat $400), etc.; condition varies with some nice fresh material throughout, owners cat in excess of $11,750.
