(Incoming Philadelphia) 1799 Hamburg, Germany To Philadelphia, Pa., folded letter datelined October 12 and endorsed "via New York, pr Capt. Dupler", "New York, Jan 16" scroll postmark and manuscript "Sh 27" rate (2¢ ship fee + double 12½¢ inland), Very Fine.

(Incoming Philadelphia) 1854-65 Bremen, Germany To Philadelphia, Pa., 3 folded letters; 1854 "pr Mathilde" with "6" in octagon handstamp, 1863 "Per Amerika" with "New York Ship Letter, 6, Oct 23" cds and 1864 "Per Hamburg" with "New York Ship Letter, 6, May 4" cds and Oelrichs & Co. oval forwarder handstamp on reverse, also two unpaid 1855-56 folded letters from Wurttemberg via New York, Very Fine.

Pkt., 23, Apr 18" exchange cds intentionally struck of Philadelphia cds, reverse with red Aachen transit cds and Alpirsbach receiving postmark; with second cover with similar usage to Saxony, Very Fine, former cover the earliest recorded use of this New York exchange marking.

(Outgoing Philadelphia) 1861 Philadelphia, Pa. To Bordeaux, France, folded letter sheet franked with 1861, 10¢ yellow green + 5¢ buff tied by grid handstamps, red "Phila. Am. Pkt., 6, Dec 27" foreign mail and Calais transit cds's, reverse with receiving cds, Very Fine, a scarce combination franking and a rare usage of the Philadelphia foreign mail cancel used only in December of 1861.
