1852, 3¢ Dull Red, Type I, Earliest Known Use From Plate 4, position 40L4, huge margins to cut in, tied by "Foxcroft Me." cds on buff cover to Bangor, Me., original enclosure headed "Foxcroft March 28 1855" from C.P. Chandler, confirmed by docketing, Fine.

This plate 4 cover is listed in the Hulme, Omiya, Tiara, Celler & Rogers article titled "Earliest Known Uses in the 1851-1857 Era" from Chronicle issue 171 (Aug. 1996). It was originally documented in Chronicle #116 on page 255.
