1850 (Jul. 1) New York, N.Y. to Cadiz, Spain, blue folded letter with pencil "73" prepaid rating and magenta "52" credit rating, carried by Collins Line Pacific New York Jul. 6 to Liverpool arriving Jul. 17, red London (7.18) transit, red Cadiz (8.3) arrival backstamp; very light stain, Very Fine, The only recorded example of the 73¢ rate via Southampton route carried transatlantic by American contract steamship.

1850 (Dec. 3) Malaga, Spain to Boston, Mass. via London, datelined folded letter with red Malaga origin cds and St. Jean (12.8) transit, endorsed in care of Baring Bros. in London who remailed to Boston, London (12.13) cds with large black "3/Cents" debit handstamp, carried by Collins Line Baltic from Liverpool Dec. 14 to New York arriving Jan. 1, large "24" due rating handstamp, Very Fine, This was the maiden voyage of the Collins Line Baltic.

1867 (Feb. 25) Rochester, N.Y. to Malaga, Spain, cover bearing 1861, 1¢ blue, nat. s.e. at right, and 1861, 10¢ green, vertical pair, all cancelled by cork cancels, matching "Rochester N.Y. Feb 25" cds, red "New York 'Paid 18' Feb 26" credit exchange cds, blue Calais transit cds and small red "PD" framed handstamp, Malaga (3.18) arrival backstamp and large red "4R" reales due handstamp; barely reduced at right, Very Fine.

1867 (Apr. 18) Exeter, Conn. to Malaga, Spain, cover with partial "Exeter Conn. Apr 18" cds and bearing 1861, 1¢ blue, single and 1861, 10¢ yellow green, vertical pair, rough perfs at right, tied by quartered open corks, red "New-York Am Pkt. Apr 20" exchange c.d.s., "Paid-Only / To England" handstamp, red London (5.4.67) arrival backstamp, red "8.R" (reales) handstamp applied at the Spanish exchange office, Malaga (5.8) arrival backstamp, clean and Very Fine, ex-Feldman.
Scott No. 63, 68    Estimate $400 - 600.

Carried on New York & Bremen Steamship Company "Baltic" that departed New York April 20 and arrived at Southampton on May 4, 1867. The rate to Spain via Britain by American Packet was 21¢ between October 1858 and February 1867. This steamship line was short lived operating only from February to December 1867 with four steamships undertaking 17 round trips with an Atlantic Transit of 14 days.
