1873, 10¢ brown, o.g., very lightly hinged, perfectly centered amid large evenly balanced margins, gorgeous rich color and a sharp early proof-like impression, exceptionally fresh, Superb, a truly stunning gem in exceptional allover condition, this being one of four examples to obtain this grade with none higher; with 2010 P.S.E. Graded certificate (Superb 98, SMQ $8,700).

5¢ blue, plate crack, position 7 in the reconstruction, bold circle of V's cancel leaves the dramatic plate crack at top right completely visible, rich color with a strong impression, Fine, an outstanding example of this scarce variety.

This is the bottom stamp in the 6-stamp reconstruction of the plate crack originally done by Chambers. The Chambers reconstruction sold in 2003 for $8,250 and a block showing the top two stamps of the crack realized $4,888 in 2012.

5¢ blue, plate crack and double transfer, position 3 in the reconstruction, vertical crack at left runs from top to bottom, double transfer shows in the letters; centered to bottom, some light creases, Fine, a rare double variety.
