1851, 3¢ orange brown, type II, horizontal strip of 3, three bold strikes of the very scarce New York integral 5½mm single bar town cancel, clear to large margins, rich color, faint diagonal pressed out crease affecting left pair, otherwise Very Fine.
Scott No. 10A    $1,250.

The use of this "single bar" cancellation is known only in the latter half of August 1851 for a period of sixteen days from the 12th to the 27th. It was one of several different bar style integral cancellers used during this period in New York City.
