1¢ Blue, Type I, paying the 1¢ carrier fee on cover addressed to Company D, Anderson Zouaves in Washington D.C., in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red, all tied by "New - York, Sep 5" cds and grid duplex, Very Fine, a scarce usage.

1¢ Blue, Type II, Plate 2, three singles with rich color, tied by circled grids on buff cover to Popes Corner, N.Y., matching "Philadelphia Pa Jan 11" cds, Bloods (1c) bronze on lilac (15L14) acid tied, "Blood's Penny Post, Jan 11. 1858" dcds, answered docketing; flap tear and some docketing on back, reduced slightly at left, Fine and scarce plate 2 Blood use, ex-Wagshall.

3¢ Rose, Type I, Trial Perforation, small manuscript "X", with left sheet selvage, perforations misaligned, slightly stained and discolored, this rare item is believed to be an early trial on the new perforating machine, Fine.
