Via Nicaragua Covers, 1854, two covers and one cover front comprising "Via Nicaragua/Ahead of the Mails" blue boxed handstamp on cover to New York franked with 3¢ dull red #11A pair tied by "New-York, Ship, Feb 24" cds to Portland Me.; 10¢ green entire with manuscript "Via Nicaragua" endorsement carried by Star of the West arriving May 13th 1854 to Rockland Me.; and 10¢ green entire front with manuscript "Via Nicaragua" and "Per Steamer Brother Jonathan Jan. 1. 1854" endorsement to Rockland Me., cancelled by "New-York Ship Jan 24" cds; first two with small edge repairs, F.-V.F. trio.
