Hong Kong, 1863, 6c lilac, 48c rose carmine, small flaws, each tied by blue "B62" cancel on 1865 folded letter from Shanghai, China to New Bedford Mass., blue Shanghae (3.25) and Hong Kong (3.30) backstamps, endorsed "Via Marseilles", red London (5.15) transit with matching "21/Cents" credit handstamp and magenta ratings, red "N. York Am. Pkt. Paid May 30" exchange cds, New Bedford (5.31) arrival backstamp; some cover staining and some wear, F.-V.F., A rare use from Shanghai via Hong Kong to the United States.

Exhibition Allahabad, red cachet handstamp tying 1906 ½a green on post card to Bombay, "Allahabad, 18 Fe, 11" cds and receiving postmark; reverse with picture of pilot M. Pequet at the controls of his biplane, signed by pilot, Very Fine, a scarce pilot signed card (Muller 1).
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.

A similar signed flight card sold in our January 2012 sale for $3,750.
