Hawaii, 1864, 1¢ black, plate 8-A, type VIII-VII/X-IX & position 7-8/9-10 side by side, horizontal block of 8, full o.g., several stamps never hinged, ample to large margins, some faint tone spots and vertical creases in gutter of right block between stamps, Very Fine; with 2008 P.F. certificate.

Sent aboard the American bark Clara R. Sutil departing Honolulu on May 19th and arriving in San Francisco on June 16th. Then by the overland mail to its destination.

Hawaii, 1866, 5¢ blue, in combination with 1884, 10¢ red brown, horizontal pair on registered cover to Hanover, Germany, all tied by target handstamps, bold red "Honolulu, Hawaii, Apr 11, 1886" cds, matching registry handstamp and N.Y. exchange etiquette, reverse with purple "Hyman Bros., Honolulu, H.I." corner card handstamps; some light tone spots, otherwise Very Fine, a scarce early registered usage (Gregory Registered Cover Log to 1890 census #26 of 40) .
