Nova Scotia, 1851, 3d dark blue, bisected, two diagonal bisects forming whole stamp, tied by oval grid cancels on cover to Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, manuscript "Per Steamer Merlin " ship endorsement, reverse with "Halifax, Nova Scotia, Au 23, 1860" origin and receiving cds's; cover with some light soiling and partial backflap, otherwise Very Fine, an unusual and rare double bisect usage; with 1957 Friedl certificate.
