Newspaper, 1865, 10¢ blue green, central "Chicago to Burlington, Mar 20" RPO town cancel (Towle 694-C-3)`, reverse showing portions of newspaper offset, repaired upper left margin and horizontal crease, F.-V.F. appearance, with Scott catalog value for stamp with faults, as virtually all these 1865 issues are in used condition; with 2014 P.F. certificate.

THE ONLY CERTIFIED 1865 NEWSPAPER ISSUE BEARING A HANDSTAMP CANCELLATION.

These issues normally are found with blue brush stroke cancels. There is another example of the PR2 that bears a town cancel, however it received a negative opinion upon certification.
