Eleventh Regiment, Indiana Veterans, ornate patriotic design showing Buffalo and Hunter with Sage Sons & Co. of Buffalo imprint on buff cover addressed to James W. Messler, Com I 100 Indiana Regt., 15th Army Core by the way of Nashville Tenn., partial "Paid by U.S. Sanitary Comm." oval handstamp, entered mails with blue "Baltimore Md. Sep 15 '64" cds and matching blue "Due. 3" circular handstamp, original lettersheet with U.S. Genl. Hospital Patterson Park illustrated patriotic design written by solider recently interned to his brother in the field; reduced slightly at right, and small edge tear, Very Fine and rare design.

"The Girl I Left Behind Me.", multicolor patriotic with Gates imprint on cover with "Cairo Ill, Jul 21 1862" cds and matching "Due 3" rating handstamp to 4 Mile Grove Ill.; reduced slightly at right, original red, white and blue patriotic lettersheet datelined "In Camp Near Corinth Miss.", letter mentions "Our camp is about three miles from Corinth (South) between the Mobile & Ohio and the Charleston & Memphis Rail Roads…It seems that some of our leading men did not care how many lives were lost in the end and altho the rebels resist to the last our soldiers are ready to meet them and give their lives to subdue them. Our troops are in good spirits and are ready to fight at any time altho they have rather hard fare they do not Mindelheim & Kirchheim that if this was could be soon brought to a close.", F.-V.F.
