(Nevada) "Columbus (NV) Jun 14 1871", manuscript postmark with matching "X" canceling 3¢ green entire to Dry Town Cal., original enclosure accompanies; reduced slightly at right, Very Fine, This is a very early example from this Esmeralda County town that was a borax mining boom town.

Andover, N.H., April 3d., remarkable perfect strike with manuscript "Free" rating and "Ebenr Chase, Post Master" endorsement on circa 1817 folded letter to Hydepark Vt.; light staining, an Extremely Fine strike of this rare postmark.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

This postmark was previously unreported. Andover post office was in Hillsboro Co. established in 1810. Postmaster Ebenezer Chase only served from July 1st 1816 to October 1st 1817, thus dating this cover to 1817.
