San Francisco, Cal., Model P.O. Sta. Jun 2 1915, sharp clear strike of duplex ties fresh 2¢ Pan-Pacific (398) with vibrant color, on patriotic cover showing Eagle with Draped Flag and green & gold Pan-Pacific expo label affixed, addressed to F. Daniels at New York City, Very Fine.
Bomar No. SF15-01    Estimate $300 - 400.

A set of covers was created by the advertising department of the PPIE company for presentation to F. Daniels who was likely a large contributor to the project.

Jun 3 1915, two partial strikes of duplex tie 1¢ Pan-Pacific (397), nat. s.e., and two 2¢ Pan-Pacific (402) singles on cover with all-over illustrated Inside Inn ad on reverse to Hankow, China, bilingual receiving backstamp; corner flaw, Very Fine and scarce use to China.

THE ONLY RECORDED GENUINE USE OF THIS EXPO DUPLEX TO A FOREIGN DESTINATION.

The Inside Inn was the only hotel within the grounds of the Pan-Pacific expo and was under the supervision of the exposition management. The post card mailed at the international rate shown in Bomar III is a faked marking.

Aug 14 1915, clear strike ties 1¢ Pan-Pacific (397) horizontal pair on cover to Hartford Conn., bottom stamp left uncancelled and tied by two strikes of "San Francisco, Model Post Office" double-oval cancels (SF15-05), corner card of Appleton Hotel in Watsonville, pencil note on reverse mentions that the sender is on a street car heading downtown, Very Fine and interesting use.

Aug 14 1915, International machine with Model Post Office cancel ties 1¢ Pan-Pacific (397) on multicolor Palace of Arts expo post card, additional strikes of four different expo markings including two American machine (SF15-04) strikes, SF15-01 duplex, SF15-03 Universal machine and SF15-05 double-oval handstamp, Very Fine.

This is one of a small number of hand back post cards that carry multiple impressions of multiple Model Post Office markings. The impressions of the American machine SF15-04 is the scarcest with excellent strikes as most were partial.
