Great Britain & Channel Islands, Stock, 1850-1980, all identified in glassines and catalogued by Scott, fair amount of QV values, condition somewhat mixed, comprehensive stock with moderate duplication, owner's catalog value in excess of $30,000.

Lot 3501 /o   

Greece, - Large Hermes Heads Collection, 1861-82, mostly housed in four binders; issues nearly complete for the period that includes 100's of varieties, cancels, etc.
Estimate    $20,000 - 30,000.

This lot and the following lot (3502) are the definition of a "Great Oldtime Collection". The collector put together his collection in the 1920's thru the 1960's. His budget was sizeable and his tenacity for the odd and unusual even greater. He purchased from many of the greatest Greek dealers of his time including P.J. Drossos. Most of this collection is neatly mounted in order. We have removed nothing and will sell these two lots as received. Condition is uniformly exceptional and many of the rarities have been expertisied one or more times.

Greece, - Balance of Collection, 1886-1923, mostly housed in four large binders; issues nearly complete for the period that includes 100's of varieties, cancels, etc.
Estimate    $10,000 - 15,000.

Hong Kong, 1874-2000, A stunning mint collection with a total Catalog Value over $28,500 in one Scott Specialty album, basically complete from 1882 to 2000, missing only #59 & 60A-60C, all neatly mounted in Showgard mounts, each stamp selected for freshness, centering and overall quality, which all better sets and singles during the period, such as #26 ($425), #32 ($1,050), 35A-35B ($950), #36b-48 ($1,579), #50 ($1,000), #51-56 ($2,450), #56A-58 ($1,165), #60 ($400), #61-63 ($675), #64-65 ($310), #66 ($525), #67-68 ($550), the 1903 Edward Set #71-85 ($3,373), the 1904-11 Edward Set #86-108 ($4,689), #109-124 ($2,111), #125-127 ($710), #128 ($250), #129-146 ($1,102), #N1-N3 ($1,050) while there maybe the occasional small fault, it is not readily apparent and the quality is much above the norm.
