Cape Smyth, Alaska, Sept 6, 1899, dateline on lengthy original enclosure to Prattsville, N.Y., cover endorsed "Ship's Letter" with straight line "Ship 4" straight line handstamp and 2¢ Postage Due pair tied by handstamps, reverse with San Francisco transit and receiving postmarks, letter mentions sending letter by way of Herschell Island; some edge wear, Very Fine.

Dyea, Alaska, Mar 5, cds (type 2, rarity 6) and matching target handstamp tying 2¢ bureau on 1898 corner card cover to Malden, Mass., with 1898, 25¢ McGreely's Express local affixed, Very Fine, as McGreeley's Express appears not to have ever used a cancelling device, the authenticity of this local on cover has never been established and the cover here is offered on it's own merits (as is).
