1785 (Sep. 17) Londonderry, Ireland to Providence R.I., datelined folded letter carried transatlantic by private ship, entered mails with Philadelphia "6 DE" Franklin mark and manuscript "Sh 4.16" rating for 4 dwt inland postage plus 16 gr ship fee; some fold wear and tear, Fine and scarce Philadelphia ship letter, ASCC cat. $750.

Packet" at bottom left, carried by Greyhound from Falmouth Oct. 16th to New York arriving Nov. 23rd, manuscript "2" rating, Very Fine.

1786 (Apr. 22) Ostend, Belgium to Philadelphia Pa., folded letter sent privately to London, entered mails with London "29/AP" bishop mark with matching "Post Paid" in circle handstamp and red manuscript "P2/-" rating for double the 1s packet fee, additional additional London "3/MA" Bishop mark and red "Post Paid" in circle handstamp,missing the Falmouth packet Portland May 7th and was sent on the Antelope Jun. 12th to New York where manuscript. "4" dwt due rating applied, Philadelphia "1/10" 1s10d local currency rating, docketed as received Jul. 16th; light overall toning, Fine.
