1847, 5¢ deep red brown, large margins to just slightly in at top left, gorgeous rich color and proof-like impression from the First Printing, tied by red square grid cancel on bluish folded letter to Liverpool, England, matching "New-York Jul 30" cds, sender's routing "Pr Britannia from Boston", bold "1/-" one-shilling due rating handstamp, carried as endorsed by Cunard Line Britannia from Boston Aug. 1st to Liverpool arriving Aug. 13th, Liverpool America (8.14.47) arrival backstamp; file folds clear of stamp, Very Fine, ex-Hart, Boker, Gross.

Feb 13" cds at left; light cover edge wear, F.-V.F., a rare usage of a 1840 5¢ issue bearing a green cancellation, Scott catalog value $1,650 for off cover stamp; with 2012 P.S.A.G. certificate.
