Pacific Union, Kernville, red Pacific Union frank (PAU-001) with a manuscript "P. U. Exp Co./Kernville Sept/21 68" cancelling on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, receiving date stamp and docketing on reverse; few filing pinholes affecting frank, otherwise Very Fine, the only known example of a Pacific Union from this location.

Pacific Union Ex. Co., Los Angeles, red printed ribbon frank printed at angle on 1864 3¢ pink part past-up entire to San Francisco, Cal., cancelled with clear blue double circle date stamp, Very Fine.

Pacific Union Ex. Co., Napa, blue cds (PAU-100) canceling on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, red ribbon frank and corner card for Lumber Dealer at lower left; reduced at right into indicia, Fine, only three example of this Napa handstamp have been recorded.

Pacific Union Express Co., New York, Jul. 3., blue double circle handstamp (PAU-101) with "5" manuscript day date correction on 1864 3¢ pink entire with rare black Pacific Union printed frank to Treasure City, Nevada, lightly soiled, Very Fine, a wonderful item with this rare black frank used on transcontinental mail, much the way the Wells, Fargo & Co. red franks were used on their transcontinental mail, express uses from New York are quite rare, especially from companies other than Wells, Fargo.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.

Rare New York PAU-101 hand stamp which is only found on the black franks applied to indicia. Only five example of the rare black frank from New York have been recorded of which this is one of the finest examples.

(Pacific Union Express Co.) Sac.(ramento) Messr (Messenger), Oct 8, exceptional strike of bold blue cds, canceling on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, red ribbon frank at top; reduced at right slightly into indicia, an Extremely Fine strike.

Coghlan, Attorney, Suisun City, Cala. allover shaded ad, red ribbon frank at left, Very Fine and choice, the only recorded example from Suisun on an advertising cover.

Co., Vaca Station, Aug 28, blue cds (PAU-100) canceling on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, red ribbon frank at top; reduced at left and slight waterstaining at bottom left edge, otherwise Very Fine, only two examples of this Vaca Station date stamp have been recorded, Vaca Station was located on the railroad line about five miles east of Vacaville.
