THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS REMARKABLE RED AND GREEN ILLUSTRATED ADVERTISING COVER FUMIGATED FOR THE BUBONIC PLAGUE OUTBREAK.
Because of an outbreak of the bubonic plague, fumigation was required on all mail from December of 1899 until April 30, 1900. This cover was mailed near the end of fumigation.
