Queen Kapiolani, pen signature "Kapiolani" on real photo 4¼"x 6½" cabinet card, reverse with J. Williams, Honolulu, Portrait and Landscape Photographer advertising and pen inscription in Hawaiian translated as "There's no photo of (me) in a holoku. So this is the 2nd one of my photos."; some aging, Fine.

THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS QUEEN KAPIOLANI ENVELOPE.

Queen Kapiolani stationery is exceptionally rare. The Queen's design was similar to the King Kalakaua design but has a different crown and more elaborated K's.

Queen Liliuokalani, Autographed Signed Letter, August 5, 1882, on 8" x 5" Royal stationery (Medcalf #25) with gold embossed Royal monogram imprint (pink Garter, blue, green and gold letters) and written in Hawaiian entirely in her own hand and signed "Liluokalani"; file fold affects imprint, wrinkled, Fine and rare letter.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.

Liliuokalani (1838-1917), born Lydia Liliu Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamakaeha, was the last monarch and only queen regent of the Kingdom of Hawaii. She was also known as Lydia Kamakaeha Paki, with the chosen royal name of Liliuokalani, and her married name was Lydia K. Dominis.

Queen Liliuokalani, Autographed Letter Signed, May 4, 1883, Paoaakalani, one page on 8" x 5" Royal stationery with embossed blue Crown monogram emblem (Medcalf #8), "Please give bearer five yards of soft Nainsook & five yds table linen. I would not want the best kind. I believe you have some that cost dollar a y'd that will answer me just as well, Liliuokalani"; some file folds, Very Fine.

Queen Liliuokalani, Autograph Letter Signed "Liliuokalani", 3 pp., November 1, 1901 to Hon. J.O. Carter written in her hand reading in part: "Dear Sir, I find that the Hamohame & Hameloa lease expires on the 1st of January 1902. Bids are already coming in for those lands and at present the offer of $3,50000 is given to me today for a year. I think it a good plan to open for other bidder to whoever would bid highest - till the 31st of December -that day the bid will close…"; some ink erosion, Fine.
