(Minnesota) Oronoco M.T. Oct 14 (Minnesota Territory), remarkable bold strike of balloon type cds in brown on 3¢ Nesbitt entire to Ulysses N.Y; reduced slightly at left and some light soiling, Very Fine and choice strike., The finest of only two recorded strikes.

(Mississippi Territory), straightline postmark and red manuscript "25" cent rating on 1805 folded letter to Washington Pa., letter datelined "Bayou Sarah, Nov 3rd 1805" (Spanish West Florida) from David Bradford, a prominent leader of the Pennsylvania Whiskey Rebellion of 1794, to prominent statesman David Redick, letter refers to traveler going through Kentucky, Very Fine.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

The 1794 rebellion was subdued by forces sent by President George Washington with Bradford escaping to Spanish West Florida.

(Montana) "Bear Town, Mont., Mar 5, 1870", manuscript postmark (S&D type 1) tying 3¢ rose, F. grill (94) vertical strip of five on 1870 cover to Switzerland, with additional manuscript cancels and red "New York Paid All Direct Mar 26" exchange cds tying, reverse with Basel (4.10) and Zurich (4.10) transits; minor perf flaws, a Very Fine and very rare Montana Territorial use.
