This New York City 1853 year-dated cds is known used only from July 1st through July 26th 1853.

(Cancels) 1857, 3¢ dull red, type III, faulty, tied by "Circleville O. Feb 27 1858" cds on cover to Mrs. M. S. Brundage at Berlin Heights Oh., fancy "M S Brundage" eagle handstamp in brown, Fine and unusual use of this fancy handstamp with sender's name, a stunning cover.

This fancy style handstamp was used as a postmarking device at a number of different Post Offices during this period.

"2" and "14", various "Paid" and "Free", also "Union" straightline, foreign transits of Hong Kong and Belgium, fancy incl. stars, shields, geometric, radials, plus a few pictorials incl. Shelburne Falls "Running Stag" on #11, town postmarks incl. fancy Shabbona Grove Ill. scroll, Brookline Ms. oval and blue Stony Creek Conn., some "Ship", "Steam" and "Steamship" handstamps, good group of Railroad post offices, some Express mail ovals, Steamboat packets, several "Way" etc., few multiples including #11 block of four and strip of 6, some orange brown #10/10As, also includes #26 town cds calendar with 144 different dates; some faults but collected for cancels, overall F.-V.F., a wonderful basis for further study and expansion for the cancellation collector.
