Confederacy, 1862, 5¢ blue, Archer & Daly printing, horizontal pair, tied by partial "Richmond Va., Feb 25, 1863" cds (left stamp tied by black pen stroke) on embossed ladies envelope to Centre, Ala., F.-V.F.Scott No. 7 Estimate $150 - 200.
Includes an Ashbrook typed note speculating that this envelope contained a Valentine from a soldier in "the Lines" around Richmond, who got the envelope from a local sutler, then had to delay before getting into Richmond to mail it.

Confederacy, 1862, 5¢ blue, Archer & Daly printing, horizontal pair, tied by "Charleston S.C., Feb 19" cds on small cover to Augusta Ga.; includes large (10 x 14") hand colored penny dreadful comic Valentine "Dry Good Dummy" by artist C.J.
