Documentary, 1871, Second Issue, 20¢ Blue & Black, Center Inverted, excellent centering for this, deep intense color on bright paper, light herringbone cancel and central strike of blue Mar. 30, 1872 oval cancellation, Extremely Fine and choice; with 1995 P.F. certificate.

ONE OF THE FINEST OF ONLY 15 RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THE 20¢ SECOND ISSUE REVENUE INVERT. ONE OF THE GREAT RARITIES OF THE ISSUE.

Most examples of this center inverted error have perforations touching one side. The Larry Lyons census recorded 13 singles and 1 pair. The example offered here, with perforations clear on all sides is a great condition rarity, especially desirable with a blue handstamp cancel.

A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE $200.00 "SMALL PERSIAN RUG".

Both the Small and Large "Persian Rug" stamps were printed in sheets of one. Because of their size and the fact that they were used on documents, they are frequently found with faults.

A WELL-CENTERED EXAMPLE OF THE CELEBRATED $500.00 LARGE PERSIAN RUG. A RARE STAMP IN ANY CONDITION AND ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STAMPS IN ALL OF PHILATELY.

Only 210 were issued, and it is safe to say that most examples are faulty to some degree. Scott Retail is for an example with small faults. The Kingsley census records 76 copies, and a handful are known outside of the census.
