Proprietary, 1871, 1¢ Green & Black, Center Inverted, remarkably well centered within balanced margins, rich colors on bright paper, blue handstamp cancel; internal paper split, fresh and Extremely Fine appearance; with 2016 P.F. certificate.

AMONG THE FINEST OF ONLY 23 RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THE 1¢ PROPRIETARY INVERT ON VIOLET PAPER.

The Larry Lyons' revenue census records 23 examples of the 1¢ Proprietary invert on violet paper. Of these, only five are well-centered with each having varying faults that affect the appearance. The well centered example offered here without any creasing or perf flaws is exceptional.

Proprietary, 1874, $1 Green & Black, Green Paper, exceedingly well centered with unusually wide margins, strong paper color, lightly canceled; minor flaws including faint crease and some thin spots, Very Fine appearance; with 2002 P.F. certificate.

A CHOICE AND EXCEPTIONALLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $1.00 PROPRIETARY ON GREEN PAPER, OF WHICH ONLY 7 EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED.

Larry Lyons listed seven used examples in his census (one stamp has since been certified as RB9a on intermediate violet paper) and one additional unused stamp has been found. Most examples have small faults.

A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $5.00 PROPRIETARY ON VIOLET PAPER.

It is believed that only 74 stamps were issued (50 on Green paper). Examples almost invariably have faults and/or repairs, due to the stamp's large size and the nature of its use.

Proprietary, 1875, 5¢ Black, Rouletted, beautifully centered with strong color and impression, very light manuscript leaves the design fully visible, an Extremely Fine gem; with 1997 P.F. certificate.

THE FINEST RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE 5¢ 1875 PROPRIETARY ROULETTED ISSUE.

Most examples of this stamp are badly centered. This example is extraordinary with outstanding centering, light cancellation and strong color.
