1859, 10¢ Green, Type V Used Singles, over 100 singles and pairs, typical range of red and black cancels with some premium including N.Y. Ocean Mail cds, blue Wells, Fargo & Co. express cds, straight line "Paid" in red and black, on cover usage to Canada, etc., other varieties including a section of plate guideline position singles as well as many other additional position multiples, part captured imprints, etc.; condition varies as to be excepted with overall condition above the norm, generally F.-V.F. overall.

1860, 30¢ Orange, exceptional centering and color, tied by "Washington, D.C., Jan. 28, 1861" cds on tissue paper cover to Batavia, Java addressed to the Captain of the U.S. Ship Vidalia, red "N. York, Br. Pkt., Paid, Jan 20" exchange cds and magenta "27" credit on manuscript, endorsed "British Steam via Marseilles" with French transit markings; cover opening expertly restored at right with small right portion of N.Y. exchange marking drawn in, Extremely Fine appearance.

1857-60 (1875 Reprint), 10¢ Blue Green, Imperforate, without gum as issued, clear to large margins, strong color, Very Fine, only a few single examples and a pair of this imperforate variety are known; with 2006 P.F. certificate.

AN EXTREMELY RARE IMPERFORATE VARIETY OF THE 1857-60 10¢ REPRINT ISSUE.

A footnote is the only reference made by the Scott catalog regarding this issue. It states that the issue exist imperforate and that very infrequent sales preclude establishing a value at this time. They do mention the famous Dale-Lichtenstein margin pair set that sold for $110,000 in a 2009 auction sale. Also a strip of three of 12¢ issue imperforate is also recorded.
