Letter from John Young with great war content reads in part, "I leave this for Castine to obtain permission to carry on my goods by land as the risk this port to Castine by see is beyond all calculation. Parts of Maine were reoccupied by the British re-establishing the Colony New Ireland. They occupied Eastport in July 1814, Castine was left in April 1815 and Eastport only in June 1818 after settling a border dispute.
