Samoa, 1886, 1d green, perf 12½, in combination with 1890, 2d brown orange, perf 12x11½ on cover to Washington, D.C., canceled by two strikes of circular waffle grid cancel, in conjunction with U.S. 1888, 5¢ indigo (perf at right overlapping portion of the Palm Tree cancels) and tied by a similar yet different waffle grid cancel, reverse with red "San Francisco, Paid All, Aug 4" transit cds and receiving postmark, Very Fine (Odenweller 15). Uruguay, 1864 British Sailor's Cover from Montevideo, franked with Great Britain 1d tied in transit by London numeral "18" barred oval to Gosport, Hampshire prepaying the 1d officer's rate, cover endorsed "From James Corben on board HMS Bombay, Montevideo" and counter signed by Commanding Officer, flap torn, Very Fine, a very rare usage.
