1852, 3¢ dull red, type II, four margins, tied by cork cancel on blue folded letter with matching "Baltimore Md. Jul 25" cds to Alexandria Va., blue "Charleston S.C. Jul 27" cds and matching "MISSENT & FORWARDED" straightline handstamp, Very Fine and rare auxiliary marking.
Scott No. 11A    Estimate $200 - 300.

This letter was apparently mixed in the wrong bag of south-bound mail and reached Charleston, the "Missent & Forwarded" marking struck to explain reason for delay.

1852, 3¢ dull red, type II, margins to cutting, tied by "Fall River Ms. Nov 15" cds on circa 1853 blue folded cover to Providence, R.I., matching "Steam" straightline handstamp; edge tear at bottom, F.-V.F.

1855, 10¢ green, type II, rich color with large margins to just touched, light corner crease, tied by neat strike of rimless "Buffalo, N.Y. Feb 25" cds on cover to Havana, Cuba, red "New-York, Mar 2, 1857" exchange cds, blue Havana (3.8) arrival backstamp with matching "NA" and "1" due ratings, prepaid for the 10¢ American packet rate, clean and Very Fine use.
