1861, 12¢ black, vertical pair, natural s.e. at left, tied by tied by unusual oval grid cancels on cover to the Captain of the American Ship Berkshire in Callao, Peru, matching "Sandwich, Ill., Jul 15" origin cds, New York "12" cent credit handstamp, British P.O. Panama (8.3.1864) double-arc transit datestamp, Lima (8.18) arrival backstamp; reduced slightly at right, couple pulled perfs, a Very Fine use, ex-Patrick Campbell.

1861, 30¢ orange, used with 3¢ rose (65), tied by "Saint Louis Mo Feb 19" duplex with four-rings cancel on orange cover to Switzerland, red "N. York Br. Pkt. Paid Feb 28" exchange cds with "12" cent credit, carried by Cunard Line Europa from Boston Mar. 1st to Queenstown arriving Mar. 12th, blue Aachen Franco (3.14) transit and red crayon "6" credit, reverse with St. Gallen (3.14.65) and Chur (3.15) arrival; refolded, Very Fine.

1863, 2¢ black, canceled by manuscript "1866" year date cancel on Horace I. Gray, Card & Job Printer corner card cover to Baldwin, Maine, with 1866 Maine Board of Selectman preprinted address panel, original unused printed order form for various stationery items; reduced slightly at right, Very Fine.

Horace I. Gray is the postmaster responsible for the Cumberland Me. town precancel postmark. The cover here is a later usage of a Gray ad cover without the town postmark precancel.

1863, 2¢ black, manuscript "F.A.S., Dec. 19 /66" cancel, used on attractive light blue and red 1866 Farmers & Mechanics Bank for $100 signed by "F. A. Sheaff"; some folds and cut cancel, Fine and attractive revenue usage.

1863, 2¢ black, diagonal bisect, used as part of 3¢ rate, bisect in pair with single, each stamp cancelled by matching manuscript cross-hatch, matching manuscript "Black Creek Pa Apr 11/68" postmark at left on orange cover front to Philadelphia Pa., pencil notation at bottom left "due 1 cts carrier", clear strike of "DUE 1" straightline handstamp possibly for the carrier fee; reduced at right affecting bisect, Fine and interesting use.
