Granada Relocation Center - Japanese Internment Camp, 1942-43 (Amache), two covers; one with "Amache, Lamar, Colo" return address and addressed to the Denver Post, franked with 3¢ Win the War tied by "Amache, Colo., Feb 2, 1943" duplex postmark, other an incoming "Prisoner of War" form letter ("Prisoner" crossed out and "Internee" above) from Lordsburg Internment Camp on New Mexico, Very Fine.

Heathton, Colo., Feb 22, 1907 (Fremont), bold cds and bar duplex postmark tying 2¢ red on illustrated Hotel Colorado corner card cover to Virginia, Canon City transit and receiving backstamps; some faint toning and opening slit at top, Very Fine, a choice strike of this rare cancel with post office operating from less than a year and a half.

Henry, Col., Oct 12, 1885 (Rio Grande), clear cds with target handstamps canceling on 5¢ dark blue entire to England, appropriate transit and receiving backstamps; small tear at top, Very Fine, the latest of three recorded examples of the Henry circular townmark.

This is one of four recorded territorial covers from Howardsville (formerly Bullion City), and one of only a handful of territorial covers known from the western slope of the Rocky Mountains. The other territorial cover realized $2,100 hammer in our April 2013 sale.
