Cayman Islands, 1900, Queen Victoria, ½d Pale Green, two horizontal strips of three with right sheet selvage, tied by "George Town, Grand Cayman, NO 7 '08" cds on registered cover to Hull, England, "R" in oval handstamp, forwarded to Liverpool, Mobile, Ala. (FX-MO1) and New York (FX-NY1a) registry exchange labels, reverse with Mobile (11.24) and New York (11.26) transits, Hull (12.6) arrival backstamp, readdressed locally; small cover tear at right, Very Fine and scarce registry use, ex-Cooley. SG No. 1a.

The six ½p stamps pay the 1d foreign postage rate plus 2d registry fee. The use of ½d stamps on foreign mail is most uncommon.

(FX-MO1) and New York (FX-NY1a) registry exchange labels, reverse with Mobile (6.25), New York (6.27) and Oldenburg (7.8) arrival cds, some stamp flaws, Very Fine and rare 4 shilling franking, an exceptional large size franking, ex-Cooley.
