Romania, 1869, Prince Carol, 50b Indigo & Red, Three Singles (transfer types 1 + 4 + 1) clear to mostly large margins, slightly overlapping and tied by "BUCURESTI SERA 10/9" cds's (Kiriac T69) on double weight folded letter to Herault, France, with framed "P.D.", French entry mark in red and French "A." for mail coming from Austria alongside additionally tying one stamp, reverse with Vienna transit and arrival cds; cover with hint of overall soiling, still Very Fine, a very rare usage franked correctly for a double weight item during the tariff of April 1869; with 2014 F. Heimbuechler certificate. Michel No. 25b.

Romania, 1871, Prince Carol, 25b Olive Brown, in combintion with 1872, Prince Carol, 10b ultramarine on 1872 cover to Martigny, Switzerland, both with large margins, tied by "Bucuresci 15/1/72" thimble cds with framed "Dupa Plecare" (late delivery) and "P.D." alongside, reverse with arrival cds (22 I 72); some slight cover edge wear, still Very Fine, no similar covers seen in the 'Cornelia' and 'Moldau' collections; with 2014 F.
