Lot 2427    

Mexico, 1914 Revolution Era - 1910, 5c orange, tied on cover by straight line Acaponeta handstamp, sent July 1914 to Tetecala, Morelos which was occupied by Zapata making delivery impossible, "Devuelta Por Estar Clausurada La Oficina De Destno" boxed handstamp indicates the office of destination was closed, returned to Acaponeta and unsuccessfully advertised, Very Fine, an outstanding postal history item of great rarity.

Mexico, 1914 Revolution Era - Manuscript Cancels, three covers with stamps tied by manuscript cancels, Cerritos, Choix and Panuco (the latter two in Sinaloa, last includes a 4c with provisional overprint), the Panuco also bears handstamps "Fallecido/Decede" (Killed/deceased), additionally a front (edge faults) with two 5c Denver revenues with district "Rio Verde" name (very scarce) tied by manuscript Cerritos S.L.P., some faults, generally Fine, a rare group.

Mexico, 1914 Revolution Era - "MEXICO", five 1c Centenarios tied on cover by San Angel duplexes, sent 10 Sept 1914 to Hermosillo, Sonora was having its own civil war at the time and to indicate the postage was accepted the handstamp "MEXICO" was applied twice, Very Fine, the mark is rare and only used at Hermosilo for a brief period.

Mexico, 1914 Revolution Era - "Porte pagdo", manuscript endorsement (postage paid) on stampless cover with administrator's seal of Allende, Chihuahua, sent to Shorb, California with December 3rd receiving backstamp, Very Fine, surely unique.

Mexico, 1914 Revolution Era - Provisional Cancels, on 11 covers including straight-line Acaponeta, two "Charcas" S.L.P., large circular Cuatro Cienagas, boxed Jerez blue with additional black Zacataecas, straight-line script Manzanillo, straight-line Parras De La Fuente, two with Tarrazas, Chih., antique oval "Rayon" Sonora, one other, generally Fine or better, these are all very scarce to rare.

Miguel, Puebla forwarded to Merdia, Yucatan where it was advertised unsuccessfully, Very Fine and rare.
