Mexico, 1856 First Issue & Second Issues Balance, 63 stamps and 5 covers, two strips of four of Scott #1. Scarce cancels include Soto la Marina, Otatitlan, Guanacevi, Zimapan, San Andres Tuxtla, Chiapa, Comitan, Cosamaloapam, Culiacan, etc., included is a cover from Veracruz with unrecorded "8" marking, two out of district Mexico covers with Tampico and Huejutla stamps, three 1861 4 reales yellow, a red on yellow four reales (Sc#10b with certificate and four margins) and nine eight reales 1861 (NF $2,500 as singles), overall Very Fine.

Mexico, 1861 Second Issue Balance, of 16 covers (including 2 sello negros stampless from the period), 4 fronts and 24 on and off piece items, mostly mounted on display pages showing a beautiful range of cancels, mostly from sub-offices; with Chalco wreath (Schatzkes 86) tying 1r on piece, Tulancinco fancy eagle oval (1716) tying 1r pair, red Chale (377-378) tying 2r to piece, Tecolotlan (399) tying 4r half to front, Perote Dilgencias (632) tying 2r to cover, Huajuapam (1043) tying 4r half on piece, etc., generally Very Fine, an attractive group.

Mexico, 1863-1987 Mexico Collection, mint and used collection in two Scott Specialty albums, highlights including. Scott #82-83 (used), 828-29 (NH), 895a (NH), C46 (NH), C47-48 (NH), C76A (used), C103-7 (NH), C186-98 and others, some nice B.O.B., solid throughout (no photo).

1864-66 Eagle Issue Balance, 20 covers and 15 on and off piece items, mostly on display pages with many beautiful cancels; nine covers bear stamps having sub-consignment numbers and nine of the other items do as well, some rare including 2r Guadalajara with Zapotlan name (sub number indistinct) tied on cover by S. Gabrriel (Schatzkes 444, Taylor 46/1), most impressive of the pieces has Veracruz 1r 26-1866 and 2r 58-1866 tied together by boxed Soledad (Schatzkes 1800, Taylor 42/2) and much underrated by both), two unoverprinted 1st Period 1r are tied together by Maravatio (Schatzkes 719, Taylor 1/5), pair ½r Guanajuanto 58-1865 sub 56 cancelled with pinwheel mute of Leon on fresh cover, two covers bear 4r stamps, one Mexico sent to France (faulty with cert.) while a Veracruz is tied to a (much nicer) "Por Extraordinario" cover to Mexico; the specialist will enjoy this interesting and diverse group, generally F.-V.F. or better.

1866 Maximilian (Litho), 13c Blue, three exhibit pages plus some unmounted items - six covers and eight stamps (one unused), covers include 13c Apam 16-1867 tied by the usual negative seal, 25c Queretaro brown 33-1866 sub 18 tied Salamanco (Schatzkes 1330, Taylor 19/4), 25c Queretaro 103-1866 numbers inverted tied Celaya, 13c S.L. Potosi 12-1866 sub 12 tied Santa Maria Del Rio (Schatzkes 1502, Taylor 28/1), 245c SLP 12-1866 sub 15 (?) tied by Jaral (Schatzkes 1496, Taylor 16/1), and Guanajuato 83-1866 tied by cds, a loose 25c Merida 52-1866 sub 1866-25 is cancelled Espita (Schatzkes 792, Taylor 11/3), Very Fine overall.

Mexico, 1867 Gothic "Mexico" Balance, with both thick and thin paper stamps, total of 27 stamps including three 8r (Sc #40), three 1/2r gray (Sc #42), five 1r blue (Sc #43), 2 beautiful 4r rose (Sc#44) and one large 4r yellow printed on both sides (Sc #38a) with 2015 G. Todd certificate (NF $1,700+), generally F.-V.F. or better.

Mexico, 1868 Full Face Hidalgo Issue Balance, 24 covers and 3 fronts, most mounted for exhibition, 21 of which are from sub offices, one has two 6c and a 12c Guadalajara tied together by Nochistlan and another has 50c Queretaro 12-69 tied by S. Juan Del Rio, fancy Alamos (tying 25c Ures) on front is probably the best cancel (Schatzkes 1733), eleven of twelve on and off piece items have sub-office cancels, a 6c Toluca 16-70 perf'd pair, an 1871 stampless from Progreso (Merida district) bears a beautiful official handstamp perfectly struck, generally Very Fine.

Mexico, 1868 Full Face Hidalgo Issue Balance, of 9 small town covers with well-struck cancels, 9 Black on Brown 100c stamps, 11 Blue on Rose 25c stamps and two very handsome large combinations on piece, covers are from Zacoalco, Ahuacatlan, Peñón Blanco (manuscript cancel), El Mezquital, Villa Guerrero, Tula de Tamaulipas, Tepatitlan, San Juan del Rio and Soyaniquilpam, one of the pieces has five 25c stamps from Nochistlan, the other from Guanajuato has 16 stamps including two 100c and two 50c, 100c stamps singles include 2 Mepsi certificates (unused Pachuca 17-69 and used Durango 22-69), also included in the 100c is a used pair, unused Mexico 1-69, Merida 19-69, rare Tula 35-71 and Saltillo 30-69 (NF for the nine 100c alone is $ 1,455), overall Very Fine.

1872 Hidalgo Issue Balance, attractive collection of 22 covers, a front & part cover and 25 off cover items (including a 6c Tula/Nopales block of four), mostly mounted for exhibition and most from different sub-offices, notable are covers with 25c 5-73 I. Del Carmen tied Laguna and 25c Cuautitlan 13-72 tied Zupango (Schatzkes 281, Taylor 7/4), 12c C. Victoria pair tied Santa Barbara (Schatzkes 1823, Taylor 17/2), 25c SLP 37-73 tied by blue Dr. Arroyo (Schatzkes 873 Monterrey District), and 25c SLP 37-74 tied by "Diligencias Generales De Tula"; cancels throughout tend to be superior strikes, generally Very Fine.
