Documentary, 1872, Third Issue, $5 vermilion & black, horizontal strip of 8, well centered with beautiful rich color, used with $2.50 vermilion & black (R146) pair and two singles, each neatly cancelled by manuscript "S S, Jul 1/72", used on part of document signed by Samuel Schiffer; light folded affects one $2.50 and one $5, Very Fine.

This strip of 8 is not currently listed in the Curtis census, this is the largest multiple on document and the third largest overall after a mint block of 18 and used strip of 10.

Consular Service Fee, 1906, $5 brown red, perf 12, bisected, two matching diagonal bisects used on 1906 Certificate of Disinfection for U.S. Consulate at the Port of Guayquil, Ecuador and one on attached Supplementary Bill of Health, each tied by official embossed seal, notation below bisect reads "Short of $2.50 Stamp" initialed "N.R.D." by Consul General Norman R. Dietrich, Very Fine.
