Confederacy, 1863, 10¢ greenish blue, four even margins, tied by crisp "Christiansburg Va., Oct 6" cds on orange cover to George Moore, British Consulate, Richmond Va., Extremely Fine.
Scott No. 11c    Estimate $200 - 300.

George Moore was Her Britannic Majesty's Consul for the port of Richmond and State of Virginia. On June 3rd 1863, President Jefferson Davis revoked and annulled Moore's status. Moore returned to England and retired.

Confederacy, 1863, 10¢ greenish blue, tied by indistinct cds on neat homemade buff cover to the Hon' Edward Frost, Charleston S.C. where it was forwarded with 10¢ greenish blue (12c), huge balanced margins, tied by neat "Charleston S.C., Dec 22" cds to Pendleton S.C.; small opening flaw top left, Extremely Fine forwarded use.

Judge Edward Frost was a well known Charleston attorney turned railroad investor. President of the Blue Ridge Railroad and involved in politics during and after the Civil War.
