Confederacy, General G.T. Beauregard C.S.A., red medallion patriotic design on cover addressed to "Jno R. West, Hog Mountain, Georgia" and endorsed "from R.P. West 35th Regiment Georgia Vols." (Company H, this was A.P. Hill's Army of Northern Virginia), "Due 10" used with indistinct town postmark, Very Fine, ex-Agre; with 1991 C.S.A. certificate.

West was killed in action May 1864 at Jericho Ford, Va - estimated battle casualties at 4,000 both sides.
