Great Britain, 1860-1900's Hand Illustrated Cover and Front Balance, of 44 items mostly fronts; wide variety of pen rendered designs including silhouettes, animals, caricatures, political including Russian Czar Blowing Trumpet of Manchuria, pirate, street scenes and performers, few colored items from correspondence; condition a little varied with many well executed designs, F.-V.F. overall.

Great Britain, 1860-70's Hand Illustrated Unused Covers, group of six skillfully executed designs, three watercolored; includes three from correspondence to Mrs White of Clonsilla incorporating stamp (petite cut) into design, others (colored) showing Horse and Rider designs, Very Fine, a very attractive group.

Lot 8    

Great Britain, 1900 Hand Illustrated & Colored Cover, hand delivered cover with skillfully rendered Portrait of Young Women design, inscribed "Many happy return of the Day, To Dora, from GME, 20 Sept 1900" from artist George Henry Edwards to his sister on her birthday, Very Fine, the only known cover from the Edwards correspondence to be hand delivered by the artist.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

George Henry Edwards (1854-1918) exhibited his art at the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute. This is one of approximately 45 covers believed to exist from this artist.
