1847, 5¢ red brown, clear to huge margins, couple small natural paper creases, canceled by blackish blue grid handstamp on 1850 cover to Montreal, Canada, matching "Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Dec 9" cds, manuscript "4½" due rating and partial receiving backstamp; cover with central wax seal stain, otherwise Very Fine, a scarce 1847 5¢ single usage on cover to Canada; signed Ashbrook, with 2005 P.F. certificate.
