New Zealand, 1858, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 1s dull emerald green, imperf, unwatermarked, large margins to jut in at bottom right, on 1862 cover to Durham, England, tied by Wellington transit postmark and cancelled by barred "12" oval handstamp with matching "Petre, Ja 8, 1862" origin backstamp, cover sent via Marseilles paying the ½oz rate to England with arrival backstamp, some cover wear and stamp lifted for inspection and hinged back in place, F.-V.F., a rare on cover usage; with 2015 Odenweller certificate.
