Lot 2253

1847, 5¢ Franklin & 10¢ Washington, Die & Plate Proof Collection, an amazing holding of (16) 5¢ and (16) 10¢. We note die proofs, plate proofs, an array of trial colors will compliment an advanced collection or inventory or be the basis for an award winning collection. Most are stamp size with a few die proofs including a 5¢ and 10¢ just showing cross hatching, brilliant colors including blues, oranges, browns, reds and more shades of the same. We didn't take the time to separate the die proofs from the plate proofs, therefore the Scott retail value only as the plate proofs is in excess of $20,000; some faults as expected in a collection of this size and scope, overall F.-V.F. appearance, worth a careful review.
Estimate    $4,000 - 6,000.
