Mexico, 1864, Eagle (1st Period), 1r ultramarine, two singles, San Luis Potosi, in combination with 1864, Eagle (1st Period), 2r orange, San Luis Potosi on June 1st, 1864 folded letter to Mexico City originating from Republican held Piedras Negras, all tied by oval San Luis Potosi handstamp (Schatzkes 1446), with enclosure written in English by Hugh Franklin Young, a prominent agent for the Confederacy, carried across the lines and posted in Imperial held San Luis Potosi, with interesting content regarding the CSA Texas-Mexico cotton trade, Very Fine, a very rare across-the-lines usage with "at least two" per Pietsch (page 20).
