A BEAUTIFUL WELLS FARGO & CO. WOODCUT FRANK TRANSCONTINENTAL USE FRANKED WITH THE 1¢ AND 3¢ 1851 ISSUE.

This was carried by the PMSS Co "Sonora" from San Francisco Dec. 20th 1855 to Panama arriving Jan. 3rd 1856. Panama Railroad to Aspinwall, then by US Mail S.S. "Empire City" departing Jan. 3rd to New York arriving Jan. 14th.

The Puebla Road Mill & Mining Company was incorporated February 20, 1864. This was addressed to Nevada Territory, which did not become a state until October 31, 1864.
