Railroad" straightlines to Providence, "U.S. Express Mail, N.York, N.Y." cds to Providence, "Prov. & Wor. R.R." blue cds (72-C-1) to Providence, "Norwich & Worcester R.R." cds to Slaterville, and two covers with pencil "P & W RR" postmarks to Mass., last is an XF 1870s blue "Prov. & Wor. "Steamboat" covers to Providence, numerous Providence red "Steamboat" straightline usages, Newport "Steamboat" straightline use, rare "Steamer Perry" red circular handstamp on 3¢ Nesbitt entire to Newport R.I., Fall River "Steam Boat" to Providence, and several New York "Steamboat" usages, etc., F.-V.F., a wonderful basis for expansion.

THIS IS THE EARLIEST RECORDED HANDSTAMPED POSTMARK FROM COLUMBIA S.C., AND THE ONLY STRIKE IN RED.

The A.S.C.C. lists this postmark only struck in black 1800-02, with and without dating at bottom center.
