N.Y." imprint and Die No. "C-151" crossed out and updated to "C-152", signed "Head, AJ" (Andrew Jones), "G. Downs" and "Frames Chas Skinner"; hinge thin, Very Fine, ex-Marcus White. This large die essay is also known unsigned in blue on ivory (E837a), and blue on white wove (E837c) with inscription "Presented by Asst. P.M. General Hazen to C.L. Webster". The former realized $3,850 in 2005. Andrew Jones was the vignette engraver and Charles Skinner the frame engraver.

There are only two recorded examples of this finished large die trial color proof in dark blue, the signed example offered here and an unsigned example last offered in 2005 that realized $2,970.
