Lettersheet, 1886, 2¢ Grant, "Specimen", group of 4 lettersheets, each with large purple "SPECIMEN." 48½x5mm handstamp, first two are with guide at right and guide at left, next is "Series 1" with guide at right and inverted watermark; last is "Series 6" with guide at right and inverted reversed watermark; first two hint of toning, Very Fine and unlisted "Specimen" type. Undersander No. E850-unlisted $2,000 as similar.

Territorial use, Special Delivery usages #E2 on 1892 Philadelphia use to local address, #E3 on 1893 Brooklyn N.Y. use, a few usages abroad uprated including 1886 #206, 210 to France, 1893 Milwaukee Wisc. with #232 to Germany; 1912 to Mexico at the 2¢ rate; also includes some precursor material, 1882 Belgium, 1883 Brazil letter cards, 1888-89 Brazil, plus 1890s Philadelphia National Export Expo unused lettersheets in four colors, examples of the 25 and 50 sheet backing pads, also includes U35 small and large size folded unused, U35 used example, etc., F.-V.F., excellent basis for further study.
