Die number 536) produced by Sterling Engraving Co. of New York, reverse with typed "Bureau of Engraving & Printing" at top and bottom, plus handstamp "Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Engraving Div. - Photolitho Sec., Reg No." with pencil "26973" control number, Very Fine. Although very similar to the Long Beach card, this card was devalued as a favor. Only about a dozen such surcharged examples of the 2¢ Grant card are known.

We offered the other recorded example in our Sale 80 lot 4283 realizing $625. The discovery of this paste-up card was announced in the UPSS Postal Stationery May 1951 on page 3. This was from the Hoe Press. It is listed but unpriced in USPCC.
